This was an interesting week in my UX internship. I completed my first GitHub issue. I had a brainstorming session with M. I developed new use cases for the Podman desktop application.
I was assigned a Github issue, to help redesign the help page below:
Before refining the design, I looked at each of the links listed, to see what information the developers wanted to make available to the users. I wrote them down.
I then navigated to the PatternFly design page to see what kind of format I could present this information in. When I found a design I found suitable, I decided on how these links should be organized within this design.
Finally, I created the design of the help page in PenPot. With input from M, I made adjustments to the colour, the arrangement of the page, the alignment of the elements and the logos. I ended up with the following design:
I have posted the design on Github and Slack. I am waiting to see what the team thinks.
Use Cases for Podman Desktop
Following our meeting with the podman desktop team, M and I had a meeting to discuss how we would move forward from that. Basically, assessing what we had learnt from that meeting and what the design implications of these features would be.
Following this session with M, I developed more use cases for the podman desktop application, including configuration settings, reinstalling/upgrading the software, and support for pods.
Next Up
This week I am going to finalise the use cases for the application. I will design some wireframes to document what we are thinking so far. I will take some LinkedIn courses on Figma and UX foundations. Finally, I will study gamestorming techniques ahead of our new meeting with the team next week.
