This week I completed my first assigned issue, I designed wireframes in FIGJAM and I also participated in a user journey mapping session with the Podman Desktop Team.
It took about three weeks but I think that the design of the help page is finalised and should be ready to move into the next sprint. The team has not made any final comments in my absence but hopefully, the design is amiable with them.
I began making wireframes for the preferences section, I made sketches for how I wanted the preferences section to open. I also made wireframes for the configuration settings. I made wireframes so I could present and discuss my thoughts with the team quickly. So that I don't waste time designing something that they do not like.
I'm getting responses now from M, after I take her comments into account, I can share these designs with the team. After that, I can continue the design process.
M and I met with the Podman desktop team to carry out a user journey mapping session, we focused on the novice user persona. This particular persona, Mark, is new to containers and containerization tools but he is not new to software development. The user journey mapping session was very interesting, the team really drew out their expectations for the future, and they are well aware of the issues that users are currently facing with the software.
The LinkedIn course on Figma was a great deal of help in the past week, I applied my knowledge of personas, user journey maps and designing wireframes to my work.
Next Up
I am looking forward to continuing the LinkedIn course. I am also looking forward to sharing my wireframes with the team to get their thoughts on it, I think it would make my work move easier and faster. I am looking to better balance my time between QA and UX. Finally, I am looking forward to carrying out more user research on potential Podman Desktop users.
